Levirge Brain · install

Install in Cursor

Install Levirge Brain in Cursor as a plugin from the levirge/brain marketplace, or paste one block into mcp.json, then sign in.

The plugin is the recommended route: four clicks, no file editing. It adds the server and the /brain:* commands.

Install the plugin

1 · Add the marketplace

Open Customize, click the All dropdown by the search box, and choose Add Marketplace → Import from Github.

2 · Import the repository

Type the repository, leave scope on User, and click Import:

levirge/brain

3 · Add the plugin

Click Add next to brain.

4 · Sign in

Open the MCPs tab and click Authenticate. Sign in when the browser opens.

Server only

Open Customize → MCPs, click New MCP Server, and paste this into ~/.cursor/mcp.json:

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "brain": { "url": "https://brain.levirge.com/mcp" }
  }
}

Back on the MCPs tab, click Authenticate next to brain and sign in.

Put the same file at .cursor/mcp.json inside a project to enable it there only.

Verify

Ask for a read-only call: kb_overview returns your workspace's knowledge summary.

Troubleshooting

The MCPs tab says "Needs authentication". That is the first-run state. Click Authenticate next to brain and sign in when the browser opens.

The plugin shows "Add" again after I added it. The marketplace filter may be on a different source. Open the dropdown by the search box and pick Levirge Brain.

It works in one project but not another. A .cursor/mcp.json inside a project takes precedence over the global ~/.cursor/mcp.json. Check which one the project is using.

I connected, but there are no Brain tools. Clients read the tool list once, when they connect. Quit and reopen the app so it reconnects.
